Jenny Rickard, vice president of product strategy for PeopleSoft, offered this comprehensive descriptor: "With a single log-on, portal technology provides the capability to aggregate content from multiple sources, integrates the enterprise resource planning backbone systems into role-based self-service transactions, integrates workflow from multiple sources, accesses role-based analytical information, and if desired, facilitates commercial transactions." ....
