(U-WIRE) NEW YORK -- While a committee of students and administrators is in the process of reviewing the procedures that Columbia University use for academic infractions, other institutions across the country have been using the Internet to combat plagiarism. Since 1996, schools such as Duke University and Swarthmore College have been using turnitin.com to scan students' papers for direct quoting or paraphrasing from Internet sites and its own logfile of submitted papers....
