An Online Class Trains Professionals in Computer Systems and Security

With e-mail worms and cyberterrorism fears attracting media attention and worrying computer-network administrators, computer security has become something of a cause célèbre. But an online program at James Madison University has offered master's degrees in information security for what amounts to a very long time, by distance-learning standards. When it was developed, in 1997, the program was the only one of its kind; it still is, according to M. Hossain Heydari, an associate professor of computer science and coordinator of the program.
