Internet law has libraries in middle

Along with the usual summer responsibilities of ordering textbooks and hiring new teachers, educators in Hinsdale Township High School District 86 had another duty this year: installing computer software that filters out objectionable Internet sites. The filter, designed to protect students from obscene, pornographic or other offensive material, cost the district about $5,000. But the expense was necessary if the district wanted to keep roughly $30,000 in federal grants it receives annually, said Jim Polzin, the district's assistant superintendent....
