University of Memphis Online Access: Distance learning brings campus to those with limited time

Students from Bolivia, Turkey and Germantown will come together for college classes this fall at the University of Memphis, which is nothing unusual -- except that when class is over, they'll switch off their computers and go back to their regular lives in Bolivia, Turkey and Germantown. More than 700 students worldwide will be brought together this fall under the Regents Online Degree Program, a new effort that unites the online learning offerings of 19 colleges and universities from across the state. Students can enroll with one school, and depending on their major, take online courses from all the participating schools, which agree to accept one another's credits....
