An E-Mail Message Fuels Controversy Involving a Prominent Distance-Education Critic

Simon Fraser University has disclosed an e-mail message that shows that its president opposed the appointment of David Noble, a historian and vocal critic of distance education, to a prestigious endowed teaching position. The president, Michael Stevenson, previously has denied that he took any steps to block Mr. Noble's appointment. The position is still unfilled....
