An Online Course Will Prepare Students Planning to Study Abroad

A consortium that promotes overseas study is planning to use distance education to reduce the culture shock felt by American students who study abroad.... The course, called "Cross-Cultural Transitions and Cultural Identity," will provide an introduction to Irish culture and explore students' preconceptions about Ireland. If the experiment goes well, the institute hopes to offer similar online courses to students in other countries in which it operates....
