The growth of distance-education programs -- especially low-quality operations -- could soon make it so easy to accumulate college credits that "degree inflation" could result," argues M.O. Thirunarayanan, an associate professor of learning technologies at Florida International University. Even when programs are legitimate, students can cheat more easily in online courses than in traditional ones, he argues....
