To get a sense of the experience of learning and teaching through Minerva’s proprietary online platform, the Active Learning Forum, I spoke with Vicki Chandler, Minerva’s Dean of Natural Sciences, and Haziq Azizi Ahmad Zakir, one of the 28 founding class students. A former faculty member at the University of Oregon and the University of Arizona, and the Chief Program Officer at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Chandler joined Minerva in January. Zakir, meanwhile, declined offers from Brown and Berkeley to enroll at Minerva last fall. (You can learn more him in his Minerva video).
