Trinity lands major backing from AT&T on campus technology initiative - San Antonio Business Journal
Trinity University received a $5 million grant Tuesday from the AT&T Foundation to support a major technology upgrade at the campus. The grant will be used to support several initiatives on campus, including a plan to enhance the school's Center for Learning and Technology, which is being renamed the AT&T Center for Learning and Technology. The center will serve as the hub of educational information and communications technology on campus. The center is housed within the university's Coates Library and has 21 computer stations with specialized media software. The AT&T Foundation grant will equip the center with all the latest software, hardware and infrastructure. The grant also will be used to extend and enhance the existing common area in the library. Trinity is naming this the new AT&T Information Commons area. In order to enhance learning in the classroom, Trinity will use the money to update technology in the rooms and invest in specialized computer labs.
