$200,000 distance-learning grant awarded - Gloria Butler Baldwin, The Clarion-Ledger
Elementary and middle-school students in Utica, Bolton and Edwards [Mississippi] will get a classroom boost thanks to a $200,000 distance-learning grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Phyfa Eiland, superintendent of the Hinds County school district, said the West Tallahatchie and Jackson County districts also received grants, with a total $500,000 awarded in the state.... Eiland said the distance learning module will allow students to interact with the Internet and other sites such as NASA that offers instructions for students.
