District explores adding online school - AMY HETZNER, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

With the state's two virtual charter schools draining potential students and funds from its operation, the School District could fight back by joining them and opening its own online academy.... "It really concerns us that other districts are benefiting, essentially by offering virtual learning to students that actually reside in our district," said Heidi Laabs, Waukesha's executive director of curriculum and instruction. "So our aim is to provide a quality program to students living in our district who are interested in virtual education."
