Distance learning grows in popularity - Amy Weaver, Manitowoc Herald Times

More high school students in Two Rivers and Mishicot are taking classes via distance learning this year. Last year, the first time Two Rivers High School offered distance learning, only one student participated, Principal Ridge Schott said. This year, there are 17. “That was the extent of it,” Schott said. “But word got around of the possibilities and course offerings.” Distance learning uses audio, video and computer technology to present classes to schools they wouldn’t otherwise offer. Two Rivers offers German I, but it accepts German II, Astronomy, Sign Language, and Japanese classes from schools in Madison and Green Bay.
