Cyberschool popularity grows - JAKE RIGDON, Daily Tribune
Shelby Frazier doesn't have to go far to get to school, even though the 10-year-old lives in Wisconsin Rapids and attends school in Fredonia. That's because Frazier, like a growing number of other students in central Wisconsin and across the nation, attends school via the Internet. Shelby's mother, Kim Frazier, enrolled her daughter at the K-7 Wisconsin Virtual Academy-Northern Ozaukee because it meets her needs better than the public schools do in Wisconsin Rapids, she said. Shelby is dyslexic. "When you compare the curriculum to what our daughter is currently getting in school, we thought this would be a better approach for her," Kim Frazier said.
