Virtual School lets students click to learning - Lynette Wilson, the News Star
When Jessica Deutsch moved to Louisiana from Illinois and enrolled at West Ridge Middle School, it was either study French online or not at all. So Deutsch, 14, enrolled in the Louisiana Virtual School, the state's distance learning program. Virtual School exists to serve all kindergarten through 12th-grade students in the state. Ken Bradford, LVS education technology consultant, said in three years LVS has gone from serving 137 students to 350 to 1,340 students in 120 schools in 48 districts.
