Virtual High School to Help Non-County Students Prepare for Standards of Learning Tests - Christina A. Samuels, Washington Post

In 2001, Prince William County schools launched a program called Virtual High School, designed to bring some classes to teenagers who learn better in front of a computer screen than a chalkboard. This summer, Virtual High School will expand beyond the county's borders. Students outside Prince William County can enroll in the county program, which is bolstered by a state grant. The hope is that online learning might help students who are having trouble passing the state Standards of Learning tests.
