Survey Options - The Online Advantage - Annemarie Timmerman, techLearning

In this era of educational accountability and knowledge-driven economy, educators require hard evidence for the effectiveness of instructional programs and reform. Data most notably obtained from surveys - consumer satisfaction (teachers, students, parents, and community members), self-assessment, opinion measures, and attitudinal measures - provides, at the very least, participants' perception of success. With the advent of technology, survey research has become easier and more productive. Numerous online survey tools and software exist that simplify the creation and distribution of surveys as well as analysis of data. In this article, we will review four technology driven survey tools. While a range of survey products with a host of features exists, these four tools were selected for review based on affordability, ease of use, and applicability to educational needs.
