Web Academy sees enrollment numbers jump - Stacy Neumann, News 14 Carolina

There is a Cumberland County school where the halls are never crowded, the students can wear pajamas to class, and they never have to raise your hand for the teacher's attention. More and more students are signing up for Cumberland County's Web Academy. Cumberland County requires you to log on at certain class times but overall, the flexibility is worth it. The online program started in 1997 with six students. Now six years later, Web Academy enrollment is climbing but there's plenty of room at the virtual school.Principal Allan Jordan can enter any of his teachers' classes and never leave his office... The virtual school's rolls stands at 1,200 to 1,300 students this year. Approximately 40 percent of those come from outside Cumberland County.
