Middle school project offers courses through videoconferencing - CHRISTINA REDEKOPP, The Herald-Dispatch

Jim Hale, administrative assistant for Wayne County Schools, dreams of a day when Wayne County schoolchildren can talk face to face with Spanish-speaking students in Arizona without having to leave their classrooms. That day may not be too far off. Wayne County Schools had a dedication last week for the middle school component of the Virtual Connections for 21st Century Rural Education project. Students and teachers at six middle school sites in Wayne County are now able to receive instruction originating from the Marshall University campus or from one of the other schools through video transmission over broadband telephone circuits.
