Orangeville, IL School Board considers virtual education - Kara S. Anderson, The Journal-Standard

A first reading was held Tuesday night at the Orangeville School Board meeting when Junior/Senior High School Principal Randy Otto presented the board a draft policy outlining the Virtual High School, according to minutes from the meeting. The high school hopes to increase its curriculum offerings without hiring additional staff. Approximately 45 percent of high schools in Illinois currently use the Virtual High School, and Orangeville doing so would mean online courses could be offered to students and eliminate the need to provide such courses at Highland Community College.
