Laptop program a hit in rural high school - Associated Press

Most of the attention over laptop computers in Maine schools has focused on Gov. Angus King's program to arm all seventh- and eight-graders with their own laptops. But at Piscataquis Community High School, every high school student not just seventh- and eighth-graders has a laptop. The school is one of the few in the nation, and the only one in Maine, that has provided laptop computers to all students. Students and educators credit the computers with rising aspirations, improved grades and fewer disciplinary problems.
