Virtual schools change W.Va. education by ALLISON BARKER - The Associated Press

Jana Woofter has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she first sat astride a horse as a young girl. But when it came time to plan for college, the 17-year-old found the traditional classroom courses at Lewis County High School lacking. She needed Latin -- a class that was discontinued when the local Catholic priest could no longer teach it. The answer for Woofter and others at many of West Virginia’s small schools with limited course offerings was a distance learning class.
