Scholastic Teacher's Radio
If you have affection for audio, tune in to Scholastic's Teacher Radio, an online program where listeners can hear from experts and fellow educators on a range of topics, from a 10-minute Q&A with veteran teachers on how to get parents involved to a 40-minute panel discussion on online literature circles. To get started, all you need is RealPlayer streaming audio technology, which can be downloaded for free at the Teacher Radio site. Of particular interest are the "Teaching with Technology" segments, where experts offer practical tips on ways to use technology effectively in school-for instance, how to help kids have meaningful online interactions. Also compelling are the "Teacher to Teacher" interviews, such as Sheila Callahan's account of her first year teaching in New York City. (from techLearning archives)
