Japanese is not offered at Hampton High School. These days, though, as distance learning becomes more prevalent, students' studies are not limited necessarily to courses their school offers. Unless, that is, a district's technology is inadequate. "Quaker Valley has Japanese," said John Wilson, the district's business manager. "Our Internet setup is not powerful enough to do videos for distance learning." Much of Hampton does not have high-speed Internet access. While this might change next year when the township gets a new cable television provider, school officials don't want to wait that long....
