But the school district's technology administrator has a secret weapon for coping with complaints about lost computer service: her squad of students trained to repair and service the school's computer system. Damerow oversees a pilot Technical Assistant Program (TAP) that trains eighth-grade students to perform routine computer maintenance and help teachers and students use unfamiliar software. After the blackout, math teacher Chuck Staky couldn't log onto the district's computer network. Damerow deployed a team of students to re-set the network switch....
