... INDIVIDUALIZING public education isn't an oxymoron. For too long, the factory model has been the primary vehicle for delivering education. Smaller schools lessen the heavy industrial feel common to public institutions, while true individualization requires classroom support largely unavailable. However, public individualized e-learning would provide tools for educators, students and parents to access a current profile of student performance against local and state curriculum objectives. It would tie each activity and assignment into a single story for the learner, rather than a series of disconnected or conflicting items....
