http://education.ti.com/us/global/news/release/news39.html Survey Benchmarks Parents' Perspective on the Role of Technology in Education A survey released today by Texas Instruments, the leader in handheld educational technology, found that an overwhelming majority (94%) of parents surveyed felt that the use of technology has benefited their children's ability to learn. Many expect to extend their commitment to their pocketbook by spending more than $100 on school supplies and educational technology per child, this back to school season; more than 20 percent expecting to spend over $250 per child. Results of this nationwide survey conducted with parents of children in middle school and high school showed that the majority felt the role of technology in their child's education was "very important." Additionally, parents surveyed fundamentally view the teacher and school as the expert resources when making purchasing decisions, and follow their technology recommendation or requirement....
