IBM Awards $15-Million in Teacher-Training Grants to 29 Institutions

As part of a grants program aimed at improving teacher training, IBM has awarded about $15-million to 29 colleges and universities in 10 states, the company announced on Thursday. The institutions and their affiliated school districts or state education departments were selected from more than 100 applicants.... "What this recognizes is that we can't execute a school-reform strategy that leaves the schools of education out," Mr. Litow said....
