This year, the answers can be learned using WebCT. "Reading is a process of interacting with actual print. We (teachers) are so sidetracked with teaching them phonics," said Mary Lewis, a special education teacher for Downtown Elementary, which is taking part in the program at Columbus State University. Through the program, 25 teachers from throughout the state are gaining hands-on experience using the textbook dependent online learning system, WebCT, as well as high-tech equipment, to help them look beyond reading problems in children....
