Group Calls for More Academic Research in Computer Security - Brock Read, the Chronicle

To protect their own computer networks and other systems, colleges should focus their cybersecurity programs on subjects such as wireless security, advanced virus protection, and Internet law, according to a report released Thursday by a consortium of academic and nonprofit research organizations. The report, titled "Cyber Security Research and Development Agenda," was drafted by the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection, an organization that uses government finances but operates independently. The research agenda highlights areas of growing importance in the field of computer security that its authors argue are underrepresented in academe. http://www.thei3p.org/
