Converge is the Word - John Savarese, University Business

Certainly, communications systems on campuses have become more critical lately, and there are several reasons: 1) Good communication is needed to handle emergencies; 2) technologies are getting more intertwined, more pervasive, and more powerful; and, 3) campuses are now serving people who have higher expectations for staying in touch with each other, the institution, and students, faculty, and staff. Advances in technologies such as CTI (computer telephony integration, or call center software); UC (unified communications); ubiquitous wireless handheld devices; and the convergence of telephones with networking, called VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) are all helping to shape a new world of campus communications.
