PC clusters ranked in supercomputer Top 10 - Gillian Law, Infoworld
Two PC-based cluster computers have entered the Top 10 list of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, according to the Top 500 supercomputer list released this week. The 20th edition of the list was released in time for the annual SC2002 supercomputer conference in Baltimore, due to run from Nov. 16 to 22. The list is compiled twice a year by researchers at the University of Mannheim, Germany, the University of Tennessee, and the U.S. National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) in Berkeley, Calif.
