University of Northern Iowa senior Kathy Roling has been tempted to burn her textbooks — especially when bookstores offer to pay next to nothing (or nothing at all) for trade-ins. "A lot of kids joke around about it," says Roling, of Cedar Falls, Iowa. "They say they might as well have a party and use them as firewood." Instead, students frustrated by the high cost of books are turning to the Net, where they can buy, sell and even trade with fellow students....
