The Kent State chapter of the American Association of University Professors conducted the survey in preparation for last year's contract negotiations between the administration and the faculty union. Cheryl Casper, an economics professor and president-elect of the AAUP, served as the chief negotiator during the mediation. She acknowledged e-mail confidentiality topped faculty concerns, edging out worries about salary, preventative health care and increased travel funding on the 50-question survey....
