Yet for every person resolving to make do with a 56K modem, someone else in a broadband-challenged community is chomping at the bit to attain more bandwidth. Believers remain convinced that this pent-up demand will soon spell recovery—even prosperity. And they foresee advanced services driving the next wave of consumer broadband adoption....
