The company came under fire last month when users discovered it had secretly included a software device that redirected Web surfers from popular shopping sites such as Amazon.com to sites run by business affiliates of StreamCast and its technology partner Wurld Media. StreamCast had only included the technology on a few hundred thousand of the estimated 40 million downloads as a test, Griffin told Reuters.
