http://www.tamu.edu/aggiedaily/11.html Women In Information Technology Conference Scheduled For Feb. 19 COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M University will hold its third annual Women in Information Technology (WIT) conference in Reed Arena from 1 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 19. WIT is the idea of Evan Anderson, chairman of the Department of Information and Operations Management (INFO) in the Mays College of Business. Since its inception, the conference has been coordinated by the department's Center for the Management of Information Systems (CMIS). "My experience led me to conclude that women are underrepresented in information technology and that their retention in information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) departments is a problem," said Anderson. "I felt our department needed to address the need for more mentors and for individualized programs to attract women to the field and keep them involved." ...
