It is equally hard to say when exactly the World Wide Web - the graphical interface invented by Tim Berners-Lee that opened the Internet to the world - became indispensable.... The trend is clear. A few large Web sites have become very large, and the rest are small. In June, the Internet research firm Jupiter Media Metrix reported that half of all time online was spent at one of four Web sites. Two years earlier, it had taken 11 Web sites to account for half of the time online. Now, AOL Time Warner, Microsoft and Yahoo are by far the Big Three destinations on the Web....
