Downloading sites blocked by Information Services

Three years ago, the nucleus for music downloading sites was born on Northeastern's campus. Now, the computer system that birthed Napster has shut down access to most downloading sites throughout campus because of their unexpected popularity. In the beginning of fall quarter, Northeastern students were experiencing difficulty with ResNet and NUnet. The complaints consisted mainly of slow Internet access and slow downloading. The problems reached a pinnacle when the system unexpectedly shut down and students barraged the ResNet office with complaints....
