Company Identifies Student Downloaders and Complains to Their Colleges

The battle over file-sharing and Internet piracy has a new combatant on the field -- an ally for the recording industry, and a headache for technical-staff members and lawyers at some colleges and universities. NetPD, a company based in London, has entered the fray as an MP3 bloodhound, sniffing out file sharers and sending out warning letters to Internet-service providers, many of them colleges and universities, ordering them to take file sharers off the network....
