The rumors that followed the terrorist attack on America were wide-ranging. The Internet accelerated their spread, particularly in forwarded e-mails. Fortunately, the same medium that helped spread the rumors was quick to either confirm or deny them. Strange as it may sound, several Internet search engines reported that in addition to World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Osama bin Laden, another popular search term entered by visitors in the days following the attacks was Nostradamus....
