Leslie Kelly, a photographer who specializes in photos of California Gold Rush country and the works of Laura Ingalls Wilder, originally filed an April 1999 lawsuit in U.S. District Court in California. The suit alleged that Ditto, formerly known as Arriba Soft Corp., infringed on Kelly's copyrights when the company indexed 35 of his photographs and put them in its database....
