Parks Associates reports that in 2001, 5% of US households have their homes networked via a personal computer (PC). Parks conducted a study of 2,500 US households in July 2001 predicting that 15% will be networked via their PC by 2005. Parks believes that there are two main factors among households that will drive their demand for networking systems: their ability to share internet access and peripherals and their desire for entertainment applications.
