Gene Brassil is champing at the bit. Brassil and his 18-month-old Downers Grove company are on the edge of a new frontier--online voting. Using electronic voice verification technology from Chicago's Veritel Corp., Brassil's VoiceVoting.com enables citizens to use computers or telephones to register and vote. If he can persuade state governments to buy his voter registration module and get his software to comply with new federal election laws, Brassil will enter the burgeoning e-government market by charging the State of Illinois 40 cents a vote to use his software....
