Study: One-third of workers watched: Privacy Foundation report indicates continuous monitoring

July 6 — About one-third of all U.S. workers with an Internet connection are under constant virtual surveillance, a new study has found. According to statistics that will be released by the Privacy Foundation on Monday, nearly 14 million U.S. employees face continuous monitoring of their e-mail or Internet surfing. The study also reveals that the trend is on the rise, thanks in part to economics — surveillance only costs corporations about $10 per employee annually....
