Sure, I can burn my wedding movies onto CDs, but the MPEG-1 format of video CDs compares in quality more to VHS than to the crisp sights and sounds of DVD. And even if I had software to put MPEG-2 video on a CD-R or CD-RW disc, I could fit only about 30 minutes of it on a single CD. Keep in mind that there are three competing recordable DVD formats, so this exercise is not for the weak of heart. These are DVD-RW, currently manufactured only by Pioneer; DVD+RW, a format championed by Hewlett-Packard, Philips, and Sony; and DVD-RAM, a format supported by Hitachi, Panasonic, Toshiba and others....
