At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Laboratory for Computer Sciences, researchers have dubbed their project Oxygen in reference to the idea that the network resource should be as ubiquitous as the air people breathe. The shortcoming of commercial industry efforts is that they are focusing on the thechnology instead of the user, said Michael L. Dertouzos, the director of the M.I.T. laboratory....
