Instructions for Authors
General
Submissions should be sent to the Chair’s e mail, at llivi1@uis.edu. They may also be delivered on CD to his mail box in Brookens 338.
Manuscript Submission
Authors must indicate if they elect to have their paper subject to blind peer-review (which will likely delay publication until a later edition), or to be published without review as a special presentation. Papers published which have undergone blind peer-review will be submitted for listing in an appropriate academic data base.
It is the author’s responsibility to ensure their paper is publication-ready. This includes spelling, punctuation, grammar, and the accuracy of figures, tables, and references.
Manuscript Style
Use of Times New Roman in 12 point is strongly encouraged, for consistency.
Papers should be double-spaced. Please number all pages consecutively.
Citations should be APA style.
For blind peer-review submissions, the author’s name must be listed only on the title page, and must be in a separate file from the remainder of the paper, abstract, and key words.
The title page should include:
the title of the article;
the author’s name(s), including academic credentials;
the author’s academic affiliation, including program, University of Illinois-Springfield, College of Education and Human Service, 1 University Plaza, Springfield, Illinois 62703
An abstract is to be included, containing no more than 150 words.
A list of 4-6 key words should be provided directly below the abstract. These will be used for indexing peer-reviewed papers.
Charts and tables should be included within the body of the text, publication-ready.
Publication Policies
Papers submitted to the Journal for blind peer review must not have been published previously. If the paper is under consideration for publication in another journal, that must be acknowledged at the time of submission.
Papers submitted for special presentation in the Journal will not be subject to peer review.
The Journal will publish abstracts of papers published previously.
All papers and theses remain the property of the author.
